Laser Facelift | Cosmos Clinic Adelaide
What is a Laser Facelift?
A Laser Facelift is carried out by inserting a thin Laser fibre underneath the skin. This heated Laser fibre melts fat cells and tightens collagen fibres within your skin, reducing sagginess. Resulting in a dramatic improvement in your jowls and face shape.
*Results may vary from patient to patient
Wouldn’t removing fat make your face look older?
Not in the areas we treat. Saggy jowls occur when the fat pads from your cheeks start to migrate south, this combined with the sagging skin in that area and the neck muscles pulling the jowls is why saggy jowls occur. Removing this fat and tightening up the skin will combat this effect. Anti Wrinkle Injections can also be done, this will relax the neck muscles and prevent them from pulling down on the face.
The Laser Facelift can also be used on younger patients who don’t have saggy skin but do have chubby cheeks. This is again due to the fat pads in the cheeks, using the Laser fibre to melt this fat can reduce the look of chubby cheeks, giving a more defined look.
How is a Laser Facelift carried out?
When you arrive for your Laser Facelift procedure, you will firstly be put under a light sedation, and the area to be treated will be numbed using a local anaesthetic. A tiny incision is then made under the neck and behind the ear. This is to allow the thin, one millimetre Laser fibre to be inserted. This fibre is moved around the area to raise the temperature to around 38-40 degrees, to tighten the skin and melt the fat cells. The procedure will be completed within 30-60 minutes with minimal discomfort and you can leave the clinic on the same day, and most people go back to work within 1 or 2 days (*can vary from patient to patient).
What happens after a Laser Facelift?
You will have to wear a support garment around the area for three days, after this you will only have to wear it at night for a further two weeks. There may be slight swelling for up to a week, bruising is minimal as the Laser fibre stops any bleeding. For pain relief patients usually only require Panadol (or Panadeine on some cases).
Is a Laser Facelift as good as a traditional facelift?
The results of a Laser Facelift are around 50-80 percent as dramatic as a traditional facelift (*results can vary from patient to patient), however there is considerably less down time, less cost, and only minimal scarring.
How much does a Laser Facelift cost?
The Laser Facelift will cost between $2,200 and $5,500. An initial consultation will cost $120 although this will come off the total price if you choose to proceed with a treatment.
