What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal Fillers are gels which when injected underneath your skin, can help smooth out deep wrinkles and folds that appear with age. They can also improve scars, fill out thin or wrinkled lips, plump up cheeks, and contour the face. At Cosmos Clinic we only use the highest quality Dermal Fillers.

What types of Dermal Fillers are used at Cosmos Clinic?
At Cosmos Clinic we choose to only use Dermal Fillers produced by leading companies. This is because we find that these products give the best results, and are of the highest quality. Made from a naturally occurring substance, the Dermal Fillers we use have the added benefit of being soluble, which means if too much is injected, the product can be dissolved with ease. They also has a built-in local anaesthetic resulting in less swelling and a more comfortable treatment. At Cosmos Clinic we also offer the latest long lasting Dermal Fillers . These two products have only recently been launched in Australia and are the most cutting edge dermal filler on the market.
How long do Dermal Fillers last?
The non-permanent Dermal Fillers we use at Cosmos Clinic can last between 6-24 months, depending on where they are injected (*can vary from patient to patient). The more active the area is, the quicker the filler will break down. For example fillers in the cheeks will last longer than fillers in the lips.
Permanent fillers can last up to 10 years, however permanent fillers cannot be corrected once they are injected. What your face needs now may be different in a five years, which is why non-permanent Dermal Fillers are preferred by the doctors at Cosmos Clinic.
Are there any side effects with Dermal Fillers?
The products which we use at Cosmos Clinic are a completely natural product which is found in the second layer of your skin. There have never been any allergic reactions to these products. There may be some slight redness, bruising, swelling and tenderness in the area post injection, this is due to the injection itself, not the product. These effects may occur for up to a week after the treatment.
What takes place in a Dermal Filler treatment?
Injecting Dermal Fillers is a simple procedure. The total treatment time is approximately 20 – 30 minutes, and you can go back to work the same day. When you come to Cosmos Clinic, a physician will discuss which areas should be treated and the extent they should be treated.
